(DVD Case)Place/Selection tool//filters/Transparency.

 Place Image
First thing I did was to upload the image that I was going to use for the DVD. I looked through my research pictures and found the image that I thought I could manipulate the most and would match the idea I had in place. So to upload or place a image on photoshop you must first go to file, then open the content you wish to place , then you press enter and then your image will be placed into your layers.

Selection tool
Once I had uploaded my image I started to crop the parts of the image I didn’t need. So to accomplish this I had to use the selection tool reason being this was the most effective way of separating the image from its counter part. This tool helped me select the parts of an image that I wanted  to manipulate. With practise I found this tool to be very handy.another selection tool feature was the auto select that will automatically outline the parts of the image you don't need need.Saving you time, the only problem I faced is when I was selecting parts of the image with the selection tool, I would over select so to fix this problem I went on youtube. Here I discovered the selection tool consists of a + part and a - the positive adding more to your selection and the negative decreasing your selection. Helping to add and erase selections I may have added

When I finished erasing the parts of the image I didn't need I then added the black hole background to my image. I strategically placed this image so that it would give the "falling into a hole" effect, being that these two images where different in tone and texture ,I wanted to make these two images blend in more with each other so to do this I added a filter .The filter option added a slight hint of blur, this made my image look more like a black hole.  I felt that having the image blurred would make it look more authentic to my audience

Transparencies

On the left of my image I had a blank space so to fill in this space I added a image. I didn't want this image to stand out to much and steal all the attention away from the main image as it was a secondary image so what I had to do was to play with the layer transparency . The first thing that I did was to move the layers around so I put the image I wanted to show behind the plain background. The next part was to play with the opacity that then produced a vague image which is what I wanted.
