This was the finale part of my trailer. in this screenshot
you will see that I am converting my trailer into a QuickTime format the reason
in why I did this is because when I copied and pasted the trailer without
exporting it, the cd did not recognize the content but after rending/exporting
it I was able to play this trailer with any supported source. To do this I first
went to file , next I went to export then I selected the format and started exporting the file into my cd .

DVD Trailer research
Befor I started my trailer implementation I first researched other trailers on Youtube. I watched many trailers and researched promotional videos where I was able to find styles and and general practice used to create trailers. In my research I used short and long trailers, the long trailer I looked at was the Armageddon trailer, this trailer really conveyed the movie concept into a short 5 minute video. So After watching this trailer I was able to design a 1 minute video that dicribed a million things about the movie I am creating.

(Evaluation)DVD Case,DVD Label,DVD Trailer
DVD Case
The first component to my project was the DVD poster for my amaray case, this had to have a professional edge and catch the audience's attention. To create this poster I used photoshop cs6 this is a program that allows you to create and manipulate images. The main features that I added to this poster consisted of selection tools, filters, layers, layer transparencies, levels, guides, effects all these features helped me create the image below. The only features that my project lacked where advanced features,by this I am referring to 3d images and using outsourced devices to make images .these missing features may have made my project better but I am happy with the overall outcome. The parts that went very well when I was making this image was the clipping mask this was a very difficult component to implement into my project but I was able to do this with help from online sources such as adobe online and youtube. The main part of this project that I was not happy with was my front end title I feel I could of added a 3d title. The reason in why this was not possible is because a title would of been a obstruction to my image the black hole concept would of been blocked. So this was a mistake I had to take into consideration for the rest of my work so in my other projects I made sure that the logos and images where produced in a manor where it did not obstruct anything.

DVD Label
The second component to my project was my label to create this I used photoshop illustrator. this being a different form of photoshop it was slightly harder to adjust to.With that said I still think I created a very skillful and advanced dvd label. The tools I used to produce this label consisted of the pen
tool, type tool, placing images, brushes, clipping masks, guides, layers,
transparencies and text wrap. The tool that I had the most difficulties with was the pen tool, this tool was very hard to get used to but once I researched and used the adobe website for help I was then able to produce the image I wanted .the first part that i would critic is my background , i felt that i could of done more by this i mean adding customized pic and using outsourced devices to make my background would of been more effective.the next part of my project that I am very pleased with is my content poisoning in my first project I had a issue with the positioning of the the title, in my poster i did not plan the content positioning well so when I was making my label i made sure of this. the second part of my label production that went well was my logo which can be found below . the reason why I was happy with this logo is because it came out in the manor that I anticipated, as you can see the color blending was done perfectly and the positioning was correct the only part I was not happy with was the fact that the scattered glass that I had made with the pentool was over lapped by the white shading I tried to play with the opacity to fix this but this was not successful but this still did not effect the message i was trying to send across with my logo.So with my label finished and after my research and comparing I think it follows all the textbook attributes of making a label and it is to a fine standard.

DVD Trailer
The final component to my project was my DVD Trailer that ui created to sponsor the movie that I was creating. To create this I used photoshop premier this software allowed me to gather various clips and manipulate them. The clips I used where downloaded from you tube.Once I had finished doing this I then started to add effects. The effect that I first added was the distraught effect that changed the flow of the clip and the rest where transitions that I used to separate the clips. I was very happy with the video I created. the only difficult part that I faced when making this trailer was adding titles to the actual video.I then found my self using the adobe website for help where I was able to read how this is accomplished once I finished the tutorial I was able to implement this into my project I wish that I had done more with the actuel font , I would of liked to add more complex font formats like 3D font or even moving font but in this case I was short for time and had to settle for less. the part that Iam happy with is the form that my transistiotions are set they are executed at the perfect times and this was a challenging task to complete but after familierising myself with the razor tool this was a effotless job .The feature that I wish I added to this trailer was the Hype Willams effect, this effect consists of three sequences that are played at the same time but are produced in different formats. I Am very pleased with the overall outcome of my trailer despite the missing feature.Dispite my difficulties and short commings I am very pleased with the finale outcome of my DVD trailer.

(DVD Trailer)Settings,Importing,Effects,Titles.
Video Settings
The first step in making my video was to adjust the settings. I chose DV PAL widescreen because I felt this would
work well with my trailer. With the resolution at 720x576 this is what I needed to enhance my effects and actual video quality. The frame rate option was beneficial to my project because it gave me the option to choose the rate the frames would be produced. Allowing me to make a 2 minute video into one.

Import images and video
Befor I started my project I downloaded videos from YouTube using mozilla firefox. I then saved my videos in my project folder. The next step was to import them Into my Photoshop premier workspace. The reason why I downloaded from You Tube is because this was one of the only website that had most of all the components I needed such as music, movie clips and videos. When I finished downloading my media files from youtube I then used google and photoshop illustrator to find images. The first image I downloaded resided from google. This was a logo created by DVD Forum that is used to distinguish CD formats ,since I am creating a DVD trailer I needed to distinguish the format..The second import was a logo that I had created, which will be used in all aspects of my project. If you notice developers like Microsoft, EA and Lionsgate always place their company logos on they projects
WORDS ON VIDEO
One of the most important features of Trailer is the title, I wanted to incorporate a title in my actual video because I need to let my viewers acknowledge what they are watching. To execute this I accessed the title options, this allowed me to choose the font size and style I wanted for my trailer .When I was happy with the font I then right clicked the mouse on the image
this then gave me a vast amount of options. The option I needed was the positioning option this allowed me to move the
words from the back of the video to the front. Next I had to choose what time I wanted the title to appear on the video to do this I had to drag and drop the words into the section of the trailer that I wanted the title to appear in.
Clips and Effects
The first part of my video was the logos, these logos where screened in the first 20 seconds of the video. each time the logo was shown it would then fade to black and show the next logo the effect that I used for this was the transition effect.
The second part was the actual video from Armaggedon this video started with a fade to black effect and was finished with a distraught effect. it lasted for 20 seconds, the third clip added was introd by another transitions effect and then chopped up with effects consisting of the distraught effect, fade to black, and blinds the reason in why I added these effects was to make the video more professional and more meaningful having a clip just screen without blend would discredit the the movie
.To add these effects all I had to do was to enter the effects section where I was given a vast amount of effects. once I found the effects I needed all I had to do was to drag and drop the effect into the section of the video I wished the effect to be screened in. If the section of the video I wanted to manipulate was within a clip I then used the razor tool to chop the section I wanted in half to allow me to insert the effect I wanted.
The second source I used for clips came from the movie gravity in this clip you will see the astronaut spinning as if he is being sucked into a hole. this is one of the main reasons in why I chose this particular clip.Another reason for the use of this clip is that I wanted to keep the sci-fi theme within all my clips and I feel I did this effectively .

(DVD Case)Levels,Overlay.
Levels
As I am creating a sci-fi influenced poster I wanted to add a artificial effect to my image background so if you where to look at sci-fi movies like Armageddon and star wars you would see that these movie trailers are rich in contrast and are blatant in displaying the artificial attributes of the image. To do this I used the levels option which can be found on right panel , This consists of two colors that can be adjusted to your needs . Making it easy for me to find the right shade that I wanted for my poster
Colour overlay
Once I had finished adjusting the levels I then wanted to make my layer more transparent. The reason being I had used the levels option to make my image contrast stronger ,This is what I wanted but the image contrast was stronger than I anticipated so I decided to adjust the opacity in the color overlay, To do this I used the Color Overlay option found in the layer style section. which had an opacity adjuster that helped me find the type of grade I wanted for my image which was 30 percent. The great feature about the Color overlay option is that you can manipulate the image and get previews of the image before you make a decision. Making it easier to find the desired opacity.
(DVD Label)Layers,Import,Effects.
Placing/Layers
the first thing I wanted to do was to place my image which would be my background. To do this I first went to place image and then picked the image I wanted to place , then I made sure it was the right size then confirmed .The reason I wanted this background was because it had all the charctoristics of a sci-fi movie I needed as you can see the middle of the DVD replicates a black hole.
The next layer that I placed was my project logo reason I added this logo is because I wanted to trademark my brand so that me as the developer would be recognized for my work.I placed this image at the very bottom of my DVD canvas. Once the image was placed I then had to move the layers around so that the logo would be placed on top of the background.
When my image was placed I then had to blend the image into place the reason I wanted to blend this image in was because I wanted the image to coexist with its surroundings . To perform this I used the brush tool which can be found on the left panel and when you select it you can then brush what ever you like in any form or pattern, which gave me the tear effect that I was looking for. This then erased the parts I didn't want and helped me blend my image in as natural as possible.
The second image that I placed on my label was the DVD logo created by DVD Forum that is used to distinguish CD formats since I am making a DVD this had to be projected in my label.Once the logo was perfectly placed I then wanted to add the same effect my background had to the DVD logo because I wanted to stick to one theme. To do this I went into the image properties and then I was given the option to adjust the way the image had been projected.Being one of my most challenging tasks This then lead me to you tube. where I watched photoshop cs6 tutorial videos that taught me how to add the blur effect that I needed to imitate the distraught background I had in place.
